In 2003, the CJAHS developed an exhibition of photos and artifacts from the Chicago Nisei Athletic Association (CNAA), which was a collection of sports leagues organized by Japanese American community leaders from the 1940s to the 1980s. Entitled “Japanese American Team Spirit,” the exhibition debuted at the Chicago Historical Society in October of 2003 and traveled to other locations in Chicago.

The CJAHS is now proud to unveil on its website a new online version of the Japanese American Team Spirit exhibition in the form of a multimedia gallery. The gallery takes a look at the earliest years of the CNAA, showcasing the organization’s basketball leagues through archival photos and audio commentary from former participants.
