Kabuki Lady Macbeth
The Chicago Japanese American Historical
Society and The New Chicago Japanese
American Association will host a
preview benefit upstairs at the Chicago
Shakespeare Theater.
Director Shozo Sato creates a theatrical
fusion of East and West in the world
premier of Kabuki Lady Macbeth produced
by the Chicago Shakespeare Theater
on Navy Pier. Sato’s adaptation
of Shakespeare introduces the public
to an art form “characterized
by an exaggerated stylization that
infuses every element from costuming
and makeup to its grand poses and
heightened vocalizations.”
The benefit
ticket is $30.00
A private reception for benefit ticket holders will be held
after the performance with Director Shozo Sato and some of
the actors.
A limited number of tickets are available.
